How these SaaS Companies grew to Multi-Million dollar brands
Selling SaaS is hard, trust me it sucks. That’s why Software sales reps get paid so much. The question is, how do you sell your SaaS product without being annoying or being just another ad?
So… Let me show you how these 2 multi-million dollar SaaS Companies made their first million.
My first example is Hubspot, a multi-million dollar Marketing platform that has features such as email marketing, SEO, and content marketing tools. There is a sector of Hubspot you may have not heard of called Hubspot Academy. Yes, you heard that right, Hubspot has a free digital marketing school.
Now you might be thinking, “Ammar, what’s the catch?”. Well, here’s the best way I can explain it. Let’s say you have Customer A who wants to learn email marketing to make some money, Customer A has a tight budget, so Customer A goes to google and searches up “free email marketing course”, and after all the ads, Customer A sees “Hubspot Academy free email marketing certification course”. Logically, Customer A is going to take the course since it’s free and a good length. But after taking the course, Customer A knows that he needs to apply his knowledge, so he looks at his first option, to get Hubspot’s software to apply the knowledge he learned through their course. So, he buys Hubspot’s software and sells email marketing as a service.
My second example is ClickFunnels, another marketing platform to build beautiful landing pages to help businesses who run ads to sell more products.
The founder of ClikcFunnels, Russell Brunson is pretty well known in the internet marketing space, his books are also very famous, such as Dot Com Secrets and Traffic Secrets. Dot Com Secrets talks about scaling your business by using landing pages, or as Russell Brunson calls it, “funnels”. Now if someone reads this book, it inclines them to buy the software so they can build their own “funnel”.
What is the commonality in these 2 examples I just gave, books and courses are info-products, and these info products are what helped these companies become multi-million dollar brands.
